Estate planning & property protection in Mexico

A property in Mexico that isn't structured for inheritance can trap your heirs in a foreign probate process for years. We structure ownership so that never happens — beneficiaries in your trust, a Mexican will where needed, and protections that follow the property.

Liability exposure from rentals, contractors and co-owners, assessed and contained.

Common questions

My property is in a fideicomiso. Do my heirs still need probate?
Not if substitute beneficiaries are properly designated — the trust passes ownership directly. We review and correct designations that were left blank at closing, which is common.
Does my US or Canadian will cover my Mexican property?
Usually poorly. Foreign wills must be probated and recognized in Mexico — slow and expensive. A coordinated Mexican will avoids that entirely.
Can I add my children to the property now?
Often yes, via beneficiary designation or co-ownership — each with different tax consequences. We model the options before you choose.
